When the Devil Visited King's Lynn

When the Devil Visited King's Lynn

“The Devil arrived in King’s Lynn by ship and headed into the market town to steal the souls of the local townsfolk. As a priest, it is your mission to uncover the Devil's possession and stop him before his plans come to fruition!”

When the Devil Visited King's Lynn was created as part of the Norwich Games Festival Jam 2026, worked on in collaboration with artist and writer Benjamin Southgate over the course of 2 weeks. We won the “Most Norfolk Game” award at the festival for this project.

  • Game Design: I collaborated with Ben to design the overall structure and direction of the game, creating the spec and systems required for the game to work.
  • Implementation: I implemented Ben's narrative and art work, handling logic and connections to create a fully playable gameplay experience through dialogue and the distinct shadow puppet styled visuals to go along with it.
  • Programming and Systems: I handled all development and systems for the game, creating everything needed to get it running efficiently on Windows and Web.
  • Animation: I created animations for the game's key characters to add visual appeal to all dialogue scenes.
  • Playtesting: I playtested throughout the jam, fixing bugs and ensuring the game was a quality experience in the short time we had.
